Prithviraj with five heroines

There is some variation from earlier reports that popular Tamil-Telugu actress and model Piaa Bajpai would be the heroine opposite young superstar Prithviraj in his Malayalam film Masters, directed by Johny Antony.In this interesting script which will also feature Subrahmaniam fame Sasikumar in the lead, the crew has already fixed Piya ( Of ‘Ko’ and ‘Goa’) and Ananya as the two heroines and are in the lookout for the rest. To be produced by V Sharathchandran in the banner of Sincere cinema, the movie is based on a script by Jinu Abraham. Jinu Abraham has written the story, which is about two bosom friends who try different ways to fulfill their social responsibilities. The cameraman is Madhu Neelakantan. The shooting will start from August 10.

Kunchakko Boban and Jayasuriya in ‘Crackjack’

After the hit movies like ‘Gulumaal’ and ‘Lollipop’ where Kunchakko Boban and Jayasuriya were seen fighting between each other, the stars will be seen in the same mould in the new movie titled as ‘Crackjack’. To be directed by Tivin, an associate to Rafi-Mecartin, this humorous flick will be scripted by J Pallassery based on a story by director Shafi. The movie will have two heroines who will be fixed later. Meanwhile, Kunchakko’ and Jayasuriya, together with Indrajith will have their fun ride ’3kings’ released by next week.

‘Three kings’ all set to be released on july 1st

After shifting its release dates many times, V K Prakash will have his humorous thriller ’3 kings’ released by the first of next month. Featuring Indrajith, Kuncahkko Boban, Jayasuriya, Samvrutha, Kaathal Sandhya and Ann Augustine in the lead roles, the movie is scripted by Y V Rajesh. The movie will have to take on Mammootty’s’ 1993, Bombay, march12′ and Sibi Malayil’s ‘Violin’ which will be releasing on the same weekend. |

Jayasuriya turns Ardhanaareeshwaran for his next project

Jayasuriya will turn ‘Ardhanareeshwaran’ in the new movie titled the same. Directed by debutante Ratheesh Ravi,the movie will tell the story of a guy named Mathews who is forced to take up a job reserved for ladies. The character whol also express a lot of feminine traits is known by the nickname ‘Penmathews’ in his home village.Mathews is force to elope from the countryside due to intense criticisms for his character, but he lands in a land among Hijadas and become one among them in the name Sandhya. The movie will also feature Anoop Menon as a character named Niran Ghosh. The movie will be completed with shoots in Mysore and Bangalore.

Bala, Mani to work together in ‘Crazy 4′

Young actor Bala who hadn’t been able to convert any of his recent films into hits will be seen once again in the new movie titled as ‘Crazy 4′. Kalabahavn mani will also appear in the lead of this movie directed by debutante Rejith Ravi. ‘Crazy 4′ produced by U Sreekumar in the banner of ‘S for arts’ will be scripted by Amal K Jobby and Rajith Ravi. Vikranth, Jagathy Sreekumar, Jagadheesh, Bijukuttan, Kochupreman, Pavithra, Mithrakurian, Archanaguptha, Aparna nair, Suraj Venjaaramoodu and Salimkumar are also in the cast of this movie which will start the shoot in a couple of weeks.

Allu Arjun with big fan base in Kerala

Allu Arjun, the Telugu star who has found a big fan base in Kerala, may not be happy with the results of his latest ‘Badrinath’. The movie which was publicised as the biggest movie in terms of budgets, is not witnessing the phenomenal opening, that has become a habit with the star’s film in kerala theatres. As per the collection details, the movie is said to have grossed a distributor share of around sixty lakhs from its three days run in 76 centres. The better collections in the initial weekend was from the Northern region of Kerala, but in the south, the movie offers a bleak picture, but just better than the other two Malayalam movies released on the same day.

‘Violin’ plans for its promotion

A newspaper which contains the entire details, snippets and stories about one single movie. That is what the makers of the Malayalam movie ‘Violin’ are planning for its promotion. Planned by the promotional team named ‘Strikers and Crew’, the stories to fill this newspaper are getting ready for the Sibi Malayil film which will reach the theatres in a couple of months. The newspaper with the mast head ‘paperviolin’ will be in tabloid size and format and will be alike the coffee newspapers of the west. The makes are planning to print around 25,000 copies as the first editions of this paperviolin’ which will have 12 pages. The newspaper will also have a e-version which will be available through the website of the movie. Violin features Asif Ali and Nithya Menon in the lead with able support in cast lines from lead actors of Mollywood.

AMMA decides to hike its ‘kaineettam’

Association of Malayalam move Artists(AMMA) has decided to hike its ‘kaineettam’ given to senior artist to Rs 4000 from this year. From this month onwards AMMA will be giving kaineettem to 81 senior artists, informed Innocent, the president of AMMA and its general secretary Mohanlal. The general body that met yesterday has also decided to form a cricket team and sent them to to the cricket matches constituted nationally in the format of IPL. Veteran actor G K pillai, Dubbing artist and actor Hari and senior artist Pala Thankam will be given honorary membership in AMMA. From this year onwards AMMA will stat a new insurance policy that can pay around 2.5 lakhs to its members succumbing to Cancer. AMMA will also allot one lakh rupees, each to five orphanages of the state.

Kavya Madhavan selected for second Bharath Murali award

Kavya Madhavan was selected for the second Bharath Murali award for best performance, initiated by the Bharath Murali cultural centre. The actress was named for the award for her life like execution of the lead role in the new movie ‘Gaddhama’. The award which carry a cash purse of 10001 rupees and a shield, will be given away in a function at kottaarakkara on the fifth of August. The centre has earmarked his award for the best performance by a female in a Mollywood film in an year.K P AC Lalitha was the recipient of the award in its first year.
