Lucky to be in Mollywood -Piya

‘I am very lucky to get a role that will help me to prove my acting proves. I consider this, jut like an acting workshop’ says Piya Bajpai who is debuting into Mollywood with the new movie ‘Masters’. Piya is infact, thrilled to be a part of the movie which will have Tamil director Sasikumar and Malayalam super star Prithviraj in the lead. While Prithvi will be in the role of an young IPS officer named Sreerama krishnan, Sasikumar will appear as a journalist named Milin Poly. ‘Masters’ directed by Johny Antony will get to sets by the next month in and around Kottayam.

 


Mammootty had been my role model in acting: Vikram

In an interesting opening up, Tamil superstar Vikram has acknowledged that Malayalam superstar Mammootty had been his role model in acting. Vikram says that it was the megastar who inspired him to go for variety, than to stick to hero centric roles. The star as an example of his role model’s brilliance also observed that though Mammootty had been in a number of movies as a police officer, he had been able to do justice to each of the roles by making it different in appearance as well as in his manoeuvres. Vikram was talking in the wake of his new release ‘Daivathirumakan’, in which he plays an youth with just the mental development of a six year old child. The movie which will be on theatres in a week, is said to be Vikram’s best in his acting career so far.

 


Silk Smitha's 'Inaye Thedi' to be remade

After the successful remakes of ‘Neelathaamara’ and ‘Rathinirvedham’, the show will now witness the remake of another hit from the eighties ‘Inaye Thedy’. The original movie which had the glamour queen Silk Smitha for the first time inthe lead in a Malayalam film, also was the first movie of many including scriptwriter John Paul, Music director Johnson and director Antony Eastman who also wrote the story lines. The movie will be reworked to suit the current generation by the debutante director Bharathraj. The movie will be produced by Karton Lewis in the banner of Lewis Carlton films. The makers are now in the lookout for a face to don the lead character. Reports are that a big name from the Tamil cinema will debut into Malayalam playing the role. The movie will kick start it shoot by August at Ooty and surrounding areas.

 


Megastar Mammootty’s fourth flop

The year is turning to be a disastrous one for Megastar Mammootty, who had been trying to be in different films and with different young directors. His latest’ Bombay, march 12′ is the latest debacle in the Box Office, with the movie hardly making any decent initials. The characteristic Mammootty opening was also missing for the movie which was publicised more like a serious art movie. Though the content of the movie was hard-hiting and was better than the other three Mammootty films -’August 15′, ‘Doubles’ and ‘The train ‘released this year, the lack of good promotions has affected the movie’s fate at the Box Office. As of now, the movie may not last long in the release centres with collections getting down to 20-40 percent or below even for the first shows.

 


Meera jasmine gradually bids adieu to filmdom

As stories are floating around which says that Meera jasmine is gradually biding adieu to filmdom, the actress will be seen in Tamil and Telugu in a new film. She has been cast against Prasanth in the new movie ‘Mammattiyaan’ and its Telugu remake ‘Dibulee’. A remake of the old hit ‘Malayoor Mammattiyaan’ featuring Prashanth’s father, actor-director Thayagrajan, the new movie will be also directed by him. Vadivelu, and Mumaid Kahan are also part of the cast of this movie which will get to theatres in a couple of months. Meanwhile, Meera Jasmine hasn’t yet signed any new film in Tamil and Malayalam and is said to be on a leave from films to prepare for her marriage.

Dr Biju with 'Aakashathinte Niram'

After searching for the way to home of a deserted boy in his last film, award winning director Dr Biju will try to look for the colours of the sky in the new film. Titled as ‘Aakashathinte Niram’, the movie will have Indrajith as the hero. To be filmed at locales in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the movie will also feature Prithivraj in an important role.. ‘Aaskashathinte Niram’ will have songs by O N V and Adv. V N Anil set to music by Raveendra jain. Nedumudi Venu, T G Ravi, Mamukoya, Delhi Ganesh and Indrans area also part of the cast of the movie which will be produced by Ambalakkkara Global films. The pooja of the movie will be held tomorrow at Thriuvananthapuram. Dr. Biju’s last film ‘Veetilekkula Vazhy’ was named as the best Malayalam feature in the national awards, this year.

  

Director Blessy's ‘Pranayam’ at Kashmir

Director Blessy has shifted his location for final schedule of his new movie ‘Pranayam’ to Kashmir. Blessy is reported to be shooting the songs for the movie here. Mohanlal who is currently in the sets of Sathyan Anthikkad movie will not be the part of this schedule which will get completed in a week. Pranayam’ which tells a mature love story will have Lal as Mathews. Other lead characters of the movie will be played by Anupam Kher and Jayapradha. ‘Pranayam’ is charted as the Mohanlal release for this Onam.

  

Two more movies ‘Thakara’ and ‘Itha Ivide Vare’ to be remade

After the super success of ‘Rathinirvedam’,the producer of the film Sureshkumar of Revathy Kalamandhir,is all set to remake yest year films like ‘Thakara’ and ‘Itha ivide vare’.The producer’s last two films Rathinirvedam an Neelathamara were remakes and both made good profit for him.Lets hope these films too become hits.Other details regarding the films are yet to be disclosed.
