Mammootty to start selling coir

Mammootty who appeared as a rich rice vendor in the acclaimed film 'Prachiyettan and the Saint' will be shortly appearing as a coir vendor in the new movie 'Venicile Vyaapari'. The movie directed by Shafi will have his as a Pavithran, who is running a coir business at the 'Venice of the East', Alappuzha. Kavya Madhavan and Poonam Bajwa will appear as his heroines in the movie which will also feature the Shafi regulars like Janaardhanan, Jagathy Sreekumar, Salimkumar, Suraj Venjaaramoodu, Vijayaraghavan and Sreeraman. The movie which will have it shoot from the first of August will have four songs set to music by Bijipal. 'Venicile Vyaapari will be a November release from the megastar.

Aryan gets another chance

Aryan is one actor who debuted through the lal's youth movie 'Tournament'. Though the movie went unnoticed, Aryan is getting a big chance to prove his talent in the new movie 'Pranayam' This Blessy movie will have him playing the childhood of Anupam Kher. The movie will also have an interesting song shot on Aryan and Nivedhitha, at the Rivadi railway station in Haryana. The young actor is presently working as Radio Jockey with the Club FM, Thrissur. Meanwhile, Blessy is into the final lap of shoot for this 'Pranayam', which is the Mohanlal movie charted for this Onam. |

Jayasurya is a paraplegic

Jayasurya will be portraying in the actor's friend Anoop Menon's upcoming film ‘Ladies & Gentlemen'. It was just during the beginning of June that Jayasurya had met with an accident during the filming of a stunt sequence on the sets for; Vadhyar’. After nearly a couple of months' rest Jay is back on track to entertain Malayalam film patrons. The actor, during the accident that took place will filming at Thrissur, had injured his left knee. Jay will be essaying the role of Stephen in this upcoming Anoop film and he will be portrayed as a paraplegic, reveal sources close to the film circuits. This project will be directed by V.K. Prakash. The pre-production work for this venture is going on in full swing and the other cast are in the process of being finalized. The title of this upcoming Malayalam film bears the same title of an upcoming Bollywood flick which will star Aishwarya Rai and hubby Abhi in the lead. Though the two films bear the same title the scripts seem to be poles apart.

Bhama injured during film shoot

South Indian actress Bhama was injured while shooting was progressing for her latest kannada movie. The shooting was at Munnar while Bhama got injured. A Bus accident was being shoot and during this glass shattered causing injuries to Bhama in her legs and face. The injury is not serious and first aid was given at Tata Hospital in Munnar. She was acting in a Kannada movie which is a remake of the Tamil movie "Maina". Bhama is a popular actress in malayalam films and she is now acting in malayalam and tamil cinemas.

Kerala to get modern technical film institute

The state will soon have a technical film institute, according to the filmmaker Priyadarshan, the new chairman of the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy. The acclaimed director was speaking to the press to introduce the 4th edition of IDSFFK, the first big event from KSCA, after he assumed the post of its Chairman recently. As the new age film making is becoming more and more technology driven, we are in need of an institute that would churn out technical professionals’ says Priyan who also expressed confidence that with K.B. Ganesh Kumar as the minister in charge of cinema, the Kerala government would help rejuvenate the Malayalam film industry. |

Prithviraj Vs Vijay in August

Well it looks like Prithviraj will lock heads with his neighboring star Vijay in August. Prithviraj's rom-com 'Teja Bhai and Family' will see release sometime in mid-August around the same time when Vijay�s superhero film 'Velayudham' will hit theatres. While this will be Prithviraj's first tryst with a full-length comedy role, 'Velayudham' will be Vijay's first film in a superhero subject. Many people in Kerala consider Prithviraj to be the next big name in the Malayalam film industry, while Tamil boy Vijay too has an impressive fan base in the god's own country. Considering Vijay's fan base in Kerala the producers have decided to release 'Velayudham' in nearly 90 theatres panning the state, reveal sources close to the film circle. Theatre owners also opine that Vijay will prove a tough competition for Prithviraj.

Titled ‘Bangkok Summer’, this movie scripted by Rajesh Jayaraman and directed by Pramod Pappan will be an action thriller. ‘Unni’ who was noted wit the recent movie ‘Bombay march 12′, and Rahul madhav who debuted with Vadamalli ‘will come together through this movie which will have Richa Pallod, Rosin and Shruthylekshmy in the female lead. Bangkok Summer’ will tell the story about the travels of a younger brother to locate his elder one, who is trapped by the underworld dons of Bangkok. The movie will also feature a number of Chinese and Hollywood stars in the cast. The new movie ’100% love’ featuring Naga chaithanya, the son of superstar Naagarjuna will get to Kerala theatres from today. The movie which tells a plot about love and humour in the life of youth is directed by Sukumar, whose earlier films like Arya and Arya2 were hits in Kerala. Devisreeprasad is the music director of the movie while Thamanna is the heroine of 100%love’. This dubbed movie going for a wide release, is brought to Kerala theatres by Khadar Hassan in the banner of Redakh Films. |
