Suresh Gopi and Mohanlal in one film   Suresh Gopi and Mohanlal will join in a new film directed by debutant N.R. Sajeev.  Shooting of this film has already started at Neyyaattinkara.  Mohanlal will be in the role of Surya Narayanan, a criminal lawyer who rescues Suresh Gopi and his friends Biju Menon and Harishree Ashokan.  Other stars are Kavery as wife to Suresh Gopi, debutant Priya, Sambath, Vijaya Raghavan, Vijaya Kumar, GaneshKumar, Jyothirmayi and  Ranjith Menon. S.N. Swamy will script for this film.  |

Mammootty as Pazhassi Raja    The ace film maker Hariharan is back again with a historical project titled, "Pazhassi Raja'.  Script based on the documentary called "Malabar Manuel', is being written by the literary giant M.T. Vasudevan Nair.  The movie will be shot in five different languages including Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Telungu and Hindi.  Mammootty will feature as Pazhassi Raja and Sarathkumar and Manoj K Jayan as prominent warriors.  The leading female roles will be carried out by Kanika and Padmapriya.  Kanika being pair to Mammootty and Padmapriya as a guerilla militant fighting against the British.  "Pazhassi Raja' is produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Gokulam Films. |

Blessy's script for Mammootty 
Blessy for the first time will script for another director's movie.  Blessy has received much from the masses and critics alike for "Bhramaram", and will now script for Director Thomas Sebastian who debuted with "Mayabazar".  Eventhough "Mayabazar' was below expectations, he seems to be lucky  to get Mammootty for this film and  scripts by Blessy. Bhramaram has completed 50 days since release and brings in an average of 60 percent collections during weekends. |

Nadia moidu is back in Mollywood.   The star heroine of the eighties in Malayalam Nadia Moidu is back in Mollywood.  She has already signed in to be the twin sister of superstar Mammootty in "Doubles" by debutant  Sohan Sinulal. He is an associate of Siddique and Shafi. The "Chocolate' fame Sachi and Sethu will write the scripts.  'Doubles" will be produced by Narayandas under the banner of Creative team. Also featuring Salimkumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Bijukkuttan. The film is scheduled to release next year. |

'T.D. Dasan, Standard VI B'    The debut directorial venture by Mohan Raghavan, 'T.D. Dasan, Standard VI B' started shooting at Kochi. 'Kareebians'   "Kareebians' directed by newcomer Irshad will have Kalabhavan Mani in 3 different roles. The first being Home Minister Viswanathan and the rest as Charly and Charles who are well known underworld leaders.  This film being produced by Nandakumar and Kattil Jalal Nazar will have Sindhu Menon and Swetha Menon as heroines.  Others are Siddique, Jagathy Sreekumar, Sai Kumar, Janardhanan, Venu Nagavally, Lena and  Lakshmipriya.  Screenplay and digalogue by Suresh Pathissery, camera by K. P. Nambiyathiri, songs written by O.N.V. Kurup and music by Shree Ram. |

Handfull of cinemas to Rima  Â
Not even one film released, but Rima Kallingal have already signed in for 6 films.  If things are going like this, the coming years in the big screen will be of the former 2008 Miss Kerala Runner up, Rima. Her debut release will be "Rithu" by Shyama Prasad. Her first film was by Lal Jose in Tamil, named, 'Mazhai Varai pokathu'.  But it is yet to be completed. Her coming films are 'Kerala Cafe' along with Shanu, son of director, Fazil, 'Raghupathi Raghava Rajaram' by Shaji Kailas, 'Neelathamara' and one Tamil film named 'Nanum en Sandhyavum'  by Bhupathi Pandyan.  As nearby dates are all given, Rima was unable to sign up for "Paleri Manikyam' by Renjith. |

More films to Ramzan   Like the last year's Onam season, there will be a shortage of new films for this years Onam. The producers and distributors have decided to shift the release of the films to Ramzan season in  contrary to their earlier decision to release their films during the Onam season. The drop of collection during Ramzan season is the major factor. The Muslim community before the Ramzan, take fasting during the day time and takes food only after prayer in the evening.  Majority thus abstain from any kind of enjoyment or outing. Therefore  the popular movie makers are not willing to take any risk to release their pictures. Mammootty's 'Pazhassi Raja', Prithviraj-Naren team's 'Robinhood', Mohanlal's 'Angel John' will  reach theatres only by Ramzan. Viewers will have to satisfy themselves by seeing 'Oru Black And White Kudumbam' and "Kutty Sraanku' during the Onam Holidays. |

Mammootty in "Pramaani'  Â
After 'Smart City', 'Madambi', 'IG', Script sriter-Director B Unnikrishan is back with "Pramaani'.  Mammootty will feature as Raghava Panicker, a corrupt panchayath president. Under the banner of Surya Cine Arts, the picture will be  produced by  B.C. Joshy.  Other artists are Jagathy Sreekumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Salim Kumar, Innocent and Siddique.  This movie is set to start shootting by the end of this year. Other details are yet to come. |
