Jayaraj's new movie “Kunjali Marakkar” with Mohanlal

Jayaraj the veteran director in Malayalam is planning to do his new film with Mohanlal titled “Kunjali Marakkar” supposed to be abig budget one. Jayaraj made his entry to Malayalam cinema field through Vidyarambham (1990) has given a handful of good films like Paithrukam, Deshaadanam, Kaliyattom. Jayaraj is now in the work of his latest film “Nayika” with Jayaram, Padmapriya and old actress Sharada in lead roles. Since his joining with Mohanlal is not officially confirmed.

Trisha debut in Mollywood

South Indian star Trisha, who has thousands of fans in the state will finally debut into Malayalam. She is reported to have agreed to the director Deepan’s new film with Prithviraj as her debut vehicle in Mollywood. Titled as ‘Hero’, the movie will also have many more highlights, the prominent one being Tamil actor Sreekanth coming up as the antihero. ‘Hero’ will be scripted by Vinod Guruvayoor, while Bharani K Dharan will crank the camera. Gopi sundar is the music director to lyrics set by Shibu Chakarvarthy and Anil Panachooran.

Malayalam Cinema will be controlled by Film Academy

"Hereafter, Malayalam Cinema will be controlled by Film Academy" says Minister Ganesh Kumar. Presently, Organisations are controlling Cinema. Film Academy will release films in theatres through KSFDC. Movies will be broadcasted directly and strict action will be taken against those against Wide release. |

Arakkallan Mukkakallan is Coming soon

Its been long since, Siby K Thomas and Uday Krishna have announced their new project, Arakallan Mukkalkallan. Putting an end to the wait, the project is starting shortly with the two super heros, Mammootty and Mohanlal, starring in. Worked as script writers, the directing jodi is making their debut in this project. Dileep is also playing a major role in the movie. ‘My name is Avarachan’ scriptted by Siby-Uday team is on work now, and their next project will start soon. The “titans” together have always gifted hits to the industry, lets see whether it repeats here too.

AMMA at Irinjalakkuda Shanthisadanam

AMMA - Association of Malayalam Movie Artist have initiate to serve hand for disabled and orphans. It was first held at Ininjalakuda Shanthisadan. AMMA President Innocent and Secretary Edavela Babu gave them 1 lakh rupees. They delivered their gratitude for the help received from AMMA.

'Thakara' and 'Itha Ivide Vare' will not be remade

It was reported earlier that the Bharathan-Padmarajan classic 'Thakara' and the IV Sasi film 'Itha Ivide Vare' would be remade in Malayalam. This was following the huge success that remakes like 'Neelathamara' and 'Rathinirvedam' saw at the box office. However now Bharathan's wife KPAC Lalitha and Padmarajan's wife Radhalakshmi have made it clear that they will not be granting permissions to any more of their late husbands' films. Lalitha has made it clear that since 'Thakara' and 'Itha Ivide Vare' are film that have already been perfectly made, they do not offer scope for remakes at all. She has asked new directors to remake less successful films from the past. |

Kamal- Jayaram after 12 years

In 1990's one of the hottest star-director team was Jayaram and Kamal. They have done a lot of memorable hits like Peruvannapurathe Visheshangal, Thooval Sparsam, Paavam Paavam Rajakumaran etc. But after Kaikudanna Nilavu (1998), they split as Kamal started promoting his assistant Dileep as hero who later went on to become a big star. Now Jayaram, who is busy among hat-trick hits-Makeupman, 'China town' and Seniors', will start shooting for the new movie by Kamal in a couple of weeks. This new movie will be scripted by K Gireeshkumar and will be produced by Thankachan Immanuel of True line movies. Innocent, Biju Menon, Samvrutha sunil and Salimkumar will be in the cast of this movie project which is yet to get titled.

Dileep's Mr. Marumagan: Release postponed

One of the big movies announced for Ramzan- Onam festival season was Dileep's Mr.Marumagan. But the shoot of the film has been delayed and chances of it releasing are remote. Mr. Marumakan is a comedy family entertainer written by the duo Udayakrishna-Siby K. Thomas and directed by Sandhya Mohan. However during the shoot of the film Kushboo injured herself and has a fractured leg. The shoot had to be cancelled and combination scenes with Dileep went for a toss.

Renjith Shankar with musical ‘Mayflower’

After the movie ‘Arjunan Saakshy’, director Renjith Shankar will once again team up with young star Prithviraj for a new movie. Titled as ‘Mayflower’, the movie will be a musical love story. Renjith Shankar is currently in the final touch ups of the movie, which will have it shoot by the end of this year. Meanwhile, Prithviraj is currently in the sets of ‘Indian Rupee’ with his mentor, director Ranjith. Prithvi who is appearing as a real estate broker Jayaprakash, is also working as one of the producer of this movie.
