Karthika gets going

Though her debut movie in Malayalam ‘Makaramanju’ with Lenin rajendran is still to reach the theatres, karthika, the daughter of actress Radha seems to be in right track in her career decisions. The tall actress has suddenly found a debut big hit in the Tamil movie ‘Ko’ directed by KV Anand. Jeeva is her hero in the movie which is running successfully in two hundred plus theatres. With the success of the movie, it seems that Karthika is sure to grab better offers in the near future. karthika had earlier made her Telugu debut with a movie opposite Nagcahithanya which was not much welcomed in the Box Office.

Lal Jose with his new project 'Spanish Masala'

After the success of the film `Elsamma Enna Aankutty' director Lal Jose is all set to enthrall the audience with another movie. `Spanish Masala' which would be the first Malayalam movie to be shot predominantly in Spain. After the film Dosth, this film would see Dileep and Chakochan in the lead. Noushad is producing the film and cinematographer Satheesh Kurup, who handled camera in super hit flick `Anwar', would be the cameraman.Benny P Nayarambalam pens the script.

Dileep in Akku Akbar's movie

After completing ‘Orma Mathram’ with Madhu Kaithapram, and ‘China Town’ with Rafi Mecartin, Dileep will start working for the director Akku Akbar’s new project. This yet to be titled movie will have story and scripts by G S Anil. Produced by Arun Ghosh and Shijoy under the banner of Chandvi productions, the shooting of the movie is expected to kick start by the last week of February. Mohan Sithara and Vayalar Sharath will handle the music section and Shaji will be in charge of cinematography. Akku Akbar, whose movie ‘Veruthe Oru Bharya’ was a surprise hit a year ago, couldn’t convert his last movie with Jayaram ‘Kana Kanmani’, into a hit.

Mohanlal in sathyan Anthikad's "Jeevitha Sagaram"

After the success of his 50th film "Kadha Thudarunnu", Satyan Anthikkad has planned his next movie starring Mohanlal. Unlike his usual trend of naming the movie just before the releasing date, the movie is titled "Jeevitha Sagaram". Pathma Priya is expected to play the heroine role in the movie. Other castings are not decided yet. Antony Perumbavoor in the banner of Aashirwaad films. As usual Isaijnani Ilayaraja will tunes the songs for the flick, whose music composing will start in a week.

Suresh Gopi playing war reporter

After being in the stereotyped roles for some time, Suresh Gopi is planning to do something different. This time he will be playing a war correspondent who underwent psychiatric treatment after participating in reporting session amidst war.The film which has completed its shooting long back, has been titled 'Ekadashi' earlier but it has been recently changed to Ven Shankh Pol. Suresh plays Nandan, a man who suffers from a terminal illness. Jyothirmayi plays his wife in the film. Ven Shankh Pol happens to be the third directorial venture of National award winning director Ashok R Nath.

Suraj Venjaramoodu to be hero again in Cooling Glass

Suraj Venjarammoodu will play the lead role in a film titled 'Cooling Glass' that would be directed by Benjith Satheesh. Cooling Glass is a comedy flick. Suraj Venjaramoodu is reprising the role of hero, while newcomer Priyanka appears as his love interest in the movie. Mukesh, Jagathy Sreekumar, Anoop Menon, Sudheesh, Salim Kumar, Vijayaraghavan, Bheeman Raghu and Jaffer Idukki will be in the supporting cast.The script of the film will be written by Murali Krishna. The cinematography would be by Jibu Jacob. 'Cooling Glass' would be produced under the banner of A R Cinema.

Music director Johnson and actress Menaka quit jury committee for KSFA

Music director Johnson and actress Menaka have walked out of the State Award Jury panel. It is reported that they decided to quit the committee after the screening schedule was changed according to the convenience of the Chairman of the Committee, Budhadeb Dasgupta. The screenings had been rescheduled from the May 10th to the 22nd, and hence Johnson and Menaka, who had prior commitments had no other choice but to walk out.According to sources, the old Kerala Government had planned to complete the screening and declare awards before May 10. However, writer Savitri Rajeevan and musician Kavalam Sreekumar have reportedly been brought in as substitutes for Menaka and Johnson's seats.

Lal to direct Mammootty?

Actor, producer, director and distributor Lal after the colossal failure of his Tournament with new faces, is now going back to trusted stars. He has asked Mammootty, to give him priority dates, for a film which he will produce and direct. Lal knows Mammootty well from the Siddique- Lal days, when the duo directed the star’s mega hit Hitler. As an actor, Lal- Mammootty combination has worked big time in films like Black,Thommanum Makkalum and the recent Best Actor. Lal is joining hands with Mammootty again, but this time he is n the director’s seat. This is Lal’s first solo directorial venture with a superstar. The buzz is that the film will be produced by Mammootty’s Play House.

Anoop Menon in 'Bhoomiyude attathu oru Veedu'

With the success of 'Cocktail' and the more recent 'Traffic', actor Anoop Menon has turned a hot property. He will be seen soon as the hero in the new movie 'Bhoomiyude attathu oru Veedu' which will be directed by Aji John. The movie which will tell the difficulties of a family to build a home for themselves will be a family film scripted by debutantes Jayan-Sunoj. Apart from Anoop Menon, the movie will also feature K R Vijaya and Suraj venjaaramoodu in other Key roles. The movie will be produced by K S chandran and Sam Varghese in the banner of Karthick Vision.
